What the club says: Founded in 1895 by the Reverend J.R. Worthington and Mr E.J. Abbott the clubhouse has unique views over the course & a large fishing lake. Recent extensive work on the course & refurbishment of the clubhouse makes this an ideal venue for golfer and non golfer alike. Facilities include; golf, snooker,PGA Professional & shop, large practice area, the finest cuisine to entertain in style.

First time I have ever played this course. Excellent course. Condition was top notch and the course had a far few tough holes.
The staff member in the pro shop was more than happy to help. Gave us some instructions to "find the 3rd tee box".
I hope to be back soon.

Certainly a Course you have to try
if you are in the area then this is the course to play. Superb condition and immaculate work put in by the Greenkeepers every day. Some great holes where you have to aim your drive or pay the price as a result. greens are in excellent condition and very fast for this time of year.Reviewer Rating

Certainly a Course you have to try
Played Handsworth Wood today 20.01.25. The course is in immaculate condition for this time of year. Greens are excellent, Fairways are nice. Only the Tee's might put you off if you do not like playing off the Mats as it is currently playing under the Blue Tees card. But, come summer the tee areas should be superb. Superb Hidden Gem.
Nestled in the middle of a housing scheme its amazing to think this course is situated where it is. Some superb scenic holes. The new 11th 12th and 13th are great holes that are quite capable of knocking the wind out of you. Overall deffo a course if you fancy a lovely days golf.Reviewer Rating

Lovely Parkland Course
First time played here, hidden away in the suburbs of Birmingham, very friendly people, nice old fashioned clubhouse with a great view over a lake; the first tee was set up so that the lake could come into play if you weren't careful; fast sloping greens; looked really well maintained; great food; will return soon with friendsReviewer Rating

Nearly six years since we last visited here, very enjoyable course , especially the second nine were they have modified and replaced 11, 12 ,13 holes for the better.

Superb Hidden Gem.
An amazing course hidden away in the middle of the Handsworth Housing estate. Once found then you have found a diamond. A superb course in my eyes and lots of varying holes to keep you thinking about your next shot. 100% give this a try if you have not yet.Reviewer Rating

Hidden Diamond in the Rough
What an amazing Golf course. It almost sits in the middle of a housing scheme and yet when on the Golf course you would never ever think it. The Par 3s are superb especially the new 13th. Looks easy but trust me its not. An amazing 12th and 14th where you need precision placing for your second shot, otherwise its a shot wasted to go for the green with your second. Superb par 5 on the 18th to finish and then for a quick refreshment in the clubhouse Bar where the bar staff are very friendly and welcoming. Anything you need Golf wise and the Pro Lee Bashford will certainly do his best to sort you out as best he can. Overall get yourself up there and play one of the best golf courses in the Midlands.Reviewer Rating

Superb Hidden Gem.
Hidden away in the suburbs of Handsworth this golf club is amazing. Starting from the first which is a slight dog leg right, this course will pull you in and you will love it. Standing on the Tee on the 3rdand the 18th are stunning and difficult if you dont hit straight between trees either side. Overall one of my favourite courses ever.Reviewer Rating

Very Very Good
Played here in an open am am and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We didn’t play well but that was down to us not the course. Great and friendly welcome from Lee the Head Pro. Course was presented in tremendous condition especially the greens. Love the 3 new holes especially as they are now well bedded in. Superb Hidden Gem.
An amazing course that's hidden away. If you have never played this then you are missing a treat. Some beautiful holes and several dog leg style holes where you have to think about your selection and not boom a driver every hole. Overall, give it a try and you will not be disappointed. The pro there Lee Bashford is an amazing pro and is happy to go out his way to help everyone who enters the pro shop.Reviewer Rating

Nice course, hard to play, but worth it

Lovely Course, nice holes.
Well worth a visit in the heart of Handsworth. Fairly open that you can give it a bash off the Tee. Overall very enjoyable and well worth a visit.(Round played: Jan 2022 - Score: 87 Handicap: 15.6)

Great Course, Great character.
A cracking course that is quite hidden away in a housing estate. Some great hidden holes and the Par 3s are interesting . If you are in the area and get the chance then I would thoroughly recommend giving it a go. Excellent Pro in Lee Bashford. Very helpful if you need anything.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 89 Handicap: 15)

What a fantastic day
We held our 14th annual golf day here Tuesday. This is the 13th different course and a lot said it was the best course so far!! The course was in superb condition and the greens were as good as you are likely to find. The 3 new holes (11/12/13) are a great addition and look like they've been there for years. Great welcome from Lee the Head Pro and we were really looked after by everyone. Food was great, value was superb and we will definitely return at some stage. Big well done to everyone associated with the club.?? ????????
