fantastic courses
Superb course all round, first time i have played here, superb. This is definitely a little oasis in the Birmingham suburbs.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 94 Handicap: 18.9)

1st round in months.

Would you believe its even better now.
The club have now finished and opened the 3 new holes on the course 11th, 12th & 13th. The course is superb as it is but now the dust has settled you really need to get here and sample these new holes. The 11th is a long hole with water just front of the green, you have to be confident with your second or its a watery grave for your ball. The 12th is an extreme dog leg right where if you dont get it off the tee then you aint getting a par today. The 13th is a sloping par 3 where the key is to get it up and down as high as possible to hope it holds and then make a birdie or Par. Give it a try, you will not be sorry.

will be nice when its finished
They are making some major changes on the back 9 resulting in 4 par 3's , the new holes are looking good but are'nt in play yet(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 85 Handicap: 15.7)

Hidden Gem
This is an amazing course set in the middle of a housing area and tucked away that you could pass it very easily unless paying attention. They are working on a couple of new holes due to open in July, once these open then although a great course at the moment, this will make it even better. Undulating fairways with some great holes where you have to think about where you are placing the ball in order to get a decent shot at your second to the pin. Overall please give this a try and you will not be unhappy that you did.(Round played: Mar 2019 - Score: 83 Handicap: 11)

Temp greens a real eye opener
I?ve visited South Staffs a few times and always been impressed with the course maintenance and fast greens, even if one or two members have been less than friendly in the past and traditions like needing over the ankle white socks have been enforced.Visited on Monday though and the course was on temp greens due to the morning frost, in fairness they did Tweet this but I hadn?t seen it, as it was a pre booking a phone call would have been appreciated. Necessary evil to preserve the course but it seemed that after our 10am tee many of the greens we saw had seen good sunshine and didn?t have a patch of frost on them but remained closed. The ?winter greens? were just holes on the fairway, not cut any shorter and it made putting pointless. (The cold weather was forecast so they could have been better prepared).
The real eye opener was that the course in hindsight is actually a little unimaginative and repetitive. Very flat and straight I soon came to realise all previous enjoyment had centred around the excellent greens, with these closed the course really has little to offer.
On that basis I can see why they do all they can to keep the greens in perfect condition which is commendable, however it felt as though if more members had been out (it was very quiet) greens would have reopened sooner; a phone call prior to arrival to advise of the situation and offer a cancellation would have been appreciated. Overall still a decent course with well sanded bunkers and well prepared tees. Mature trees and OOB are the only real characteristics and the fairways in places weren?t quite of the standard experienced previously here so all in all it?s one that has sadly gone down in my estimations.

Hidden gem in Birmingham. Quality as always

Ryder cup pairs event 29th September 2018
Great communication with text for shotgun start tee position #BigThumbsUppro very welcoming and what a lovely vibe around the clubhouse, only downside is some tee's and greens really close and you feel in danger from stray shots, 7,16,17 spaghetti junction and 6th green 7th tee log jam but the course is good and the new holes 12 and 13 look stunning.
£18 you can't go wrong with 11 prizes and 4 pin and Long drive prizes also, a good day out. Will be back when the course is fully back to full length.
Big practice area and a single net for a quick warm up, 50p a coffee in the half way house :-) 5hrs is far too long for a round of golf sadly. Pies looked amazing.

BGA TOUR
I think this is great course, well maintained greens were excellent, variation of holes and a good test for any golfer. The club house is very traditional and looks spectacular coming dowh the 18th. Great Course.2 holes having work done on them, which in the long run will only improve the course, minimal disruption.

Great Course.
What a great hidden course this is. Nestled in the middle of a housing scheme it is so tranquil and quiet its amazing. Some great holes as well. The 2nd is a tester and if you walk off with a par there you have done well. Doing quite a bit of work on it at the mo with 3 holes but when finished will look and play even better than it currently does.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 79 Handicap: 12.8)

Bang Average
Played last week, entering the place is strange and you do wonder what you are going to turn up to, but in all honesty it is not that bad, it has a couple of nice holes, plays short but so is everywhere at the moment, greens average at best, clubhouse ok but lots of work going on with new holes, could be interesting

Superb Course
This is a fantastic parkland style course. Amazing considering it looks like its in the middle of a large housing area. Some lovely holes. Doing a lot of work on it at the moment , but in the summer I can see this to be even better than it currently is. Great opening first hole, slight dogleg right be aware of ther water though all up the right.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 99 Handicap: 12.6)

(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 94 Handicap: 18.2)

Hidden Gem.
This is a beautiful course, couple of uphill holes, especially the second. Some very tight fairways from the tee but widen once you leave the tee. Overall I would highly recommend this course. They have spent a lot of money building up new bunkers etc and it now looks a great course. Give it a try if you are in the midlands.(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 99 Handicap: 12.1)
