What the club says: The 'front nine' is renowned as a real test for any golfer. The tree-line tight fairways of the par 4s are especially challenging. Wayward drives usually mean a difficult second shot or a chip out onto the fairway. To finish the 'front nine' is the dog-legged 495 yard 9th - a real birdie chance for straight hitters.
The 'back nine' has its own special holes too, including the long but fair par 5 13th. A particular favourite of many is the par 4 15th which has a copse on the right ready to devour golf balls from the slightly off-line drives of the bold who try to save yards by aiming up the right-hand side of the fairway!

Mr
The course is in the best condition it has been in for years. After heavy overnight rain the greens were a little slower than usual. Overall, great value, and the staff have to be commended for their efforts.Reviewer Rating

Some work has been done recently with regards to pathways and direction posts , the fairways are not brilliant, very patchy in places and the bunkers are very hard and could do with a rake and some sand adding. To sum up decent good course for a decent price, we'll worth a visit

Testing tree lined coarse , well maintained
A challenging coarse with most holes tree lined, need to be able to shape your tee shot’s and some holes tough second shots into par four greens. Very enjoyable coarse to play.Reviewer Rating

Frosty winter review Jan'22
For those looking for a winter review........Hadn't rained for a while but a very frosty morning. As a result the greens were showing permanent indentations (should be closed on such days to protect them).
1 winter green and astro tee boxes were available.
Fairways were very firm in places, a "bit" wet in others. I used a fairway mat so less of an issue.
Trollies (and buggies) still allowed, which surprised me.
Overall the course is standing up well however.

tight and tough
this used to be a municipal course but (i think) is now part of SIV portfolio of courses in derby and sheffield. the course has been tidied up immensely, greens are excellent and the bunkers now have plenty of sand (unlike the last time i played here about 5 years ago!). decent bar and catering facilities super friendly staff.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 87 Handicap: 14.2)

Derby RAM £15 but 5hr+ round
Start with the positives, greens in good shape and slick NO ISSUES. very friendly members and good set up as said in previous reviews, it's a council / trust set up. US open style rough great for speeding up play, pretty much a reload for my playing partners on the day 23+ handicappers. had lots of dry/cracked/bare fairway lies. 2nd tee 3 groups waiting, marshalls and spotters helped luckily a nice warm day.Small practice area down the side of 18 and 2 new warm up nets, community based club. entrance of the main road near to ROLLS ROYCE don't use postcode and visit the local estate for a joyriding experience.
