Played front 9 on winter tees and greens in very wet conditions. Looking forward to trying again in the summer when dry and on summer tees and greens.

Not the best I'm afraid

I'm sorry but having played dozens of great courses over the year I can only think that the positive reviews for this course were written by members !!! The course is short, just 9 holes, a practice area bordering on useless, not very well manicured and very expensive to play.

Don't be fooled by the yardage

When looking at the card, the holes may look short but don't be fooled! This is one of the best tests of golf you can find, Some tight Tee shots and difficult par 3's along with small greens meaning accuracy for your approach shot is key. The undulating fairways means distance is not everything off the Tee trying to find a flat lie is the important part. The course really makes you think from Tee to Green. The double flagged greens and the split greens on the other holes really makes it feel like you are not playing the same 9 holes twice. A True Test of Golf, with some of the best quality fairways and greens in the area.

Congleton Golf Club is a really testing 9 hole parkland course. Some of the views are breathtaking.\Accuracy is key, with small double flagged greens demanding accurate approach shots.\The greens are amongst the best I\'ve played in ages, well worth a visit.

Several split greens and repeated holes through the 18 holes, however the course represents a really decent challenge with heavily undulating holes, some tough blind shots, and some dense "lost ball" areas all these features redeem the yardage and split holes.

(rated fair for value @ £20 for 18, mainly due to the repeated nature of several holes).

This is a 9 hole course within a very picturesque landscape as viewed from the 4th T and also from the clubhouse balcony. Quite a hilly course with few flat fairways with the ball either below or above the feet. The course has many mature trees and is very tight requiring attention to club selection. I.e. Leave the driver in the bag on most holes.
