What the club says: Astbury is a testing parkland course located on the outskirts of the quiet village of Astbury in the beautiful South Cheshire countryside. The course comprises tree lined fairways with some testing holes including the par five 12th which requires a long carry over a ravine from the tee. Water comes into play on 7 holes and the undulating terrain is a good test for your short game. The course is divided by the Macclesfield canal which plays an important part alongside holes twelve and thirteen.

Fantastic track in the Cheshire countryside, definitely worth a visit in the summer as the green keepers are doing a fantastic job at this little gem of a course(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 74 Handicap: 5)

Astbury Swamp!
This is the worst course in East Cheshire. It has been only been fully open (18 holes) for two days only since 2.12.20. The course is an absolute mud bath. Avoid at all costs!Reviewer Rating

Great to join a new club like Astbury
Having had my first round as a member of Astbury I can say its a greta place. The people are friendly and made me feel very welcome. The course was playing very well given the inclement weather over the previous week.

High Quality Course
Visited Astbury GC and found it to be in excellent condition. Played as part of a 4 ball and managed to get a 2 for 1 offer reducing the green fees to ?25 each. Was also given an excellent rate on the buggy due to my disabled father in law. Good challenge throughout with plenty of hazards throughout. Worth a visit.Reviewer Rating

Greens immaculate. Greens were fast with plenty of borrow required for most putts. Very little variation in the greens from hole to hole.

The 12th is the signature hole and beat me hands down. I suspect I wasn't on my own though.
The staff in the clubhouse were very friendly and made us feel welcome throughout the day and I was stuffed after eating a fine three course meal.
Altogether a very good experience.
Ignore the negative comments previously posted, I suspect they are used to playing courses similar to Augusta!

I paid £36 to play which means i could play as many rounds in that day as i wanted but after 18 I really didnt want to. i used my putter on the first 6 greens and then didnt even bother. other than the greens I thought the course is well layed out and well kept but still rather boggy cosidering the lack of rain we have had.
After my 18 holes I wanted to go for a drink and bite to eat, but the kitchen closes at 2pm and i wouldnt of been abble to anyway as you can only pay on card for a minimum of £20.
If the course was fairly priced and offered a rate for just 18 holes priced between £18-£25 it would reflect the condition.
