What the club says: Malkins Bank has recently become a private golf club, operated by golfers for golfers. It offers a fantastic round of golf. It is kept in fabulous condition and since its' creation has benefited from being upgraded to an eighteen-hole course with the opening of its back nine. Changes have been made since its' birth and continue to be made, all across the course with the greens being improved, a tree planting programme having taken place, as well as course redesigns and the installation of an improved drainage system having occurred in recent times.

The course was extremely wet in places with puddles on the greens and fairways. Leaf coverage on front 9 was terrible, any slight off fairway shot and ball had disapeared. Whilst I know the weather has not been great made some shots very difficult to play. The course is lovely though, Hills and challenging but reachable greens.
I will be coming back to play this course when the weather is a little nicer.

Really good course, challenging front 9 that lightens up on the back 9 and gives you a chance to redeem a poor score.
Fairways are long and straight, with some hidden water that can trap the unwary.

Open golfer

Generally a good course to play, pace of play can be a little slow at weekends. I would rate this course higher if the long standing drainage issue on the 15th could be resolved. That said a good selection of holes requiring straight drives

The course is good for the price. Bunkers are OK.
Just please, sort out the bog that is the 15th. It's been bad for years now. Don't just put it under GUR.
As for the speed of play, there's no considerarion given to other golfers. We've had to skip holes just because of a thoughtless group in front holding everyone up.

good round again at the club . 15 th GUR boggy near the green
the course could have some more drainage work around some holes but on the whole the course is well worth the money
this course has different difficulties from the eaasy par on the 1st to the 14the with a dogleg and pond protecting the green

Very nice course, its a must.
Although it was raining quite hard, the course stood up well, and can't wait to try again when dry, there are some challenging holes, and we'll placed bunkers to catch out the everyday player.Reviewer Rating

The course seems to hold water in a lot of places, even after a rew days without rain. The 3rd, 8th, 13th and 15th fairways can still squelch when walking them and a good drive plug. Some of the greens have 2 or 3 levels and are an interesting challenge. The bunkers are not deep anywhere on the course so do not spoil your round. If you are accurate off the tee and kèep the ball in play, the course is not too difficult, but if we could all do that on every hole on every course it wouldn\\\\\\\'t be such a rewarding or frustrating sport! At the current price and availability of tee times, it is a good and value for money course.\\\\

Lads weekend away
Played Saturday & Sunday on a lads weekend away and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the course.Accommodate was spotless clean and more than adequate with great food in the clubhouse served by friendly helpful staff.
