What the club says: Situated amidst beautiful surroundings, Charnwood Forest Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Leicestershire. The Course is 9 holes, and is on high ground overlooking the local countryside. Great crags of Leicester granite, known as Hanging Stone Rocks form a majestic setting for this delightful course.
The course is beautifully maintained with some of the best greens in the county.

I've been thinking about joining a course and have played several over the last few months locally.Charnwood forest came out on top, course condition, speed of play and hospitality.only has 9 fairways and greens but 18 different tee off boxes.I think this course is brilliant and value for money can't be beaten.

Don't let the fact that it's a 9 hole course put you off. The alternate tee positions make the back nine a different challenge on most of the holes. Each hole significantly different and challenging. Very scenic and course in good condition. Would certainly play again.

Hidden Gem
Can't recommend this course more highly. Totally natural golf in a beautiful setting, and in superb condition.It might take a few rounds to really understand the course and its intricacies, but it is one of the most enjoyable places to play in Leicestershire.

A querky course which boasts stunning views over Charnwood, very friendly and welcoming. Not as easy as it seems, you need to be accurate and aware of the bounce as most of the fairways have a slope. A good challenge of golf for all standards.

Fantastic 9/18 holer!
What a surprise this course was, 9 fantastic holes, doubling up with a further 9 different tee positions for the back 9. No bunkers but plenty of rocks, walls, heather, trees and sloping fairways with a few sheep scattered about, which all make for a challenge! Great course in excellent condition.Reviewer Rating

The first hole is fairly ordinary and gives no indication of the fun to come. As after that you drive off high fairways far beneath you,with beautiful views of Charnwood Forest to the west and the rest of
Leicestershire to the East. Exhilarating stuff. Friendly staff and members.
