Great course super layout

I was unaware that the course was designed by Dr Alister Mackenzie and purely based on this I played the course and loved it. Yes there are there maybe more challenging and exclusive courses in the area however this provided a true challenge. The course has a number of doglegs and position is everything par 3?s are well protected by bunkers. Course was playing short due to the very dry conditions

No Range, Small Putting Green, No halfway. Decent Course Conditions, Layout odd, need to cross main road to get from hole 2 to hole 3, Overall decent course for price, good for beginners would play again.

Pleasantly surprised.

To give some context....Good Friday, ?15 a round, everywhere else fully booked....course was thus very busy. However, once off the first tee the pace of play was ok. The course is actually very good. Undulation changes, some tough par 4s, the par 3s are all a challenge with good bunkering. Was it in great condition, not really (bumpy greens and some boggy fairways) but would I return for ?15? Definitely.

Nice track

I really enjoyed Stanley Park, its a nice municipal. Nicely laid out with some interesting holes, especially on the front 9, once you cross the road.
There are a couple of short par 4's to have a go at & all the par 3's are very nice.
Greens are in good condition & it looks like they are working hard to make the course even better.
Top that off with some really friendly locals, all in all a really pleasant experience.

Early start

Nice conditions. Drove well (generally) but approach play needs work. Overall this is an excellent course and in the best condition it’s been for years

Good Condition and great value

In better condition than I've seen it for ages, good to see the groundstaff out raking bunkers and moving pin positions as we were going round.

Used to play the park a lot but the greens got to be so poor it wasn't enjoyable. Good to see them in far better nick, a couple were a bit woolly and lacking grass but still better than they were

Very nice course, worth a visit.

Tough front 9 at par 36 and a much easier and open back nine at or 34. Excellent scenery and some challenging holes. The only downside I?d give to this course is that it is necessary to cross a busy road to continue after the second hole on the front 9, and cross back to begin the back nine. There are traffic lights and a crossing but I wouldn?t expect it on a course.

Not been for a few years

and was pleasantly surprised how good a condition it was in given the recent heatwave. Greens were actually a little damp and slow after some rain in the morning. The rough was well defined and punished you accordingly without killing the round.

Mack Golf should be ashamed

I played here last summer and the course was much improved, apparently mainly thanks to new staff.
There appears to have been little or no investment since then and the head greenkeeper has left, which is understandable. Some holes are unplayable due to wet conditions ie up to your ankles in mud when Mack Golf website says the course is open, no buggies or trolleys. I appreciate we've had a wet season but the total lack of investment is now obvious. Talking to a few poor members, it seems a lot will not be renewing their membership this April.I don't blame them. Mack Golf need to put serious investment here and reinstate the good staff or else this place will revert to Blackpool Council who will be happy to sell it for unaffordable housing. Shame. It used to be good. Mack Golf should be ashamed to let good staff go and not invest at all in the course.I will not be back.
