Plenty of hills and cross slopes
Basildon Course was in excellent condition greens ran well. Tricky cross slopes in summer when the ball rolls sideways from the fairwayReviewer Rating

Good test of straight shooting
In good condition and greens are excellent. Lots of quite narrow, tree lined fairways to keep your attention, not to mention the two, two hundred yard plus par 3's. Will definitely play again.Reviewer Rating

Basildon
I like the layout of the course. Some parts were very wet due to the clay soil. I thought it was a bad idea to allow buggy carts out on the course with some heavy/boggy parts on some fairways.Reviewer Rating

Very wet and soggy but that was due to weather

Good logical layout
Great layout, with all but one tee box being more or less adjacent to the last played green. One downside is the large number of 'Blind holes', with your objective fairway / green being hidden over the crest of yet another hill.
Due to the very hilly nature of the course, buggies more or less essential.
Nice clubhouse and good food / drink offering - just one thing Basildon, your Gent's toilet could do with a deep clean!

Interesting slopes and blind holes
Well kept course and catering area. Lovely putting green.Greens and fairways in good condition. Lovely tree lined holes. The main challenge is the topography with steep slopes and cross sloping fairways.

Tough trek, some narrow and undulating fairways, some narrow greens, well looked after, good staff, good practice facilities and great value for money. Well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating
