Location: Coming North from Reigate / the M25 on the A217.Just over 6 miles North of the M25 you go straight across the A2022 from Epsom to Purley at a large traffic lights, heading towards Central London and Sutton. After 0.9 mile of dual carriageway you come to a 'Y' junction at a roundabout, and you take the left fork towards Wimbledon and Central London, staying on the A217 (the right fork goes to Belmont and Sutton along the Brighton Road). About 200 yards after the roundabout, take the first left into The Crescent, then first left again into the 'No Through Road' leading to the Clubhouse.
Coming South from London on the A217 (Sutton-by-Pass). You cross the A232 from Epsom/Ewell/Cheam to Carshalton/Sutton/Croydon near Cheam Village, then drive for 0.8 miles before turning turn right at the traffic lights into Northey Avenue, then immediately left at the mini-roundabout into Burdon Lane. Go for another 0.6 miles, and when the Road turns left, watch for traffic from your left then go straight ahead into the short cul-de-sac and Club Car Park.

What the club says: Banstead Downs is a downland course built on chalk. It has a reputation for being an "all year round" venue and rarely is the course unfit for play. The course has been designated an area of Special Scientific Interest because of the natural flora and fauna. The fairways have a natural undulation and good definition.

Golf Course Reviews for Banstead Downs Golf Club
Nice downs style course. Friendly pro shop and overall very good. Watch out crossing the busy road.
(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: )
Took up the option of a £20 introductory green fee and will definitely return for another crack. The course is in excellent condition and the greens are the best I've played on for a while

Course in good condition given the very wet weather, nice challenging greens which were very true, great hospitality with very friendly helpful staff.

Lovely course with some very interesting holes however walking over the dual carriageway was an experience
(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 108 Handicap: 19.2)
Great course for winter. In good condition, greens running straight and true. Dry.
(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 86 Handicap: 20.5)
Old, established course. Good challenge for all levels.
All in all a very nice day out
(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 103 Handicap: 24.2)
Greens fast but true. Provides a good challenge with the need to plot your way round the course. Played for ?30 which was reasonable but it's mostly ?40 or above which is a bit steep especially during the week.
In great condition. Fairly quiet for a weekend round, so good pace. Greens very fast but manageable. Enjoyed it here.
(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 93 Handicap: 19.7)
The only issue is having to cross the A217 (mad mile) - you need to be quick when crossing as the traffic really does motor along.....
(Round played: May 2017 - Score: 81 Handicap: 10.8)
(Round played: Apr 2017 - Score: 95 Handicap: 18.2)
Rate Helpful (rated: 1)

Apart from that, still enjoyable, would recommend.
Very nice course. Facilities very good and made to feel welcome
