What the club says: Auchmill Golf Course is situated in the Northfield/Bucksburn area of Aberdeen and was set out originally as a 9-hole golf course run by the Council. It was officially opened for play in 1975, having been designed by Brian Hugget, Ryder Cup player Neil Coles and Golf architect Roger Dyer, and was first and foremost an amenity used by both locals and local clubs.

The course was extended to 18 holes in 1989 and due to its popularity Auchmill Golf Club came into existence, with membership rising to around 400.

Most Helpful Review

One of the hardest courses in the area to get your handicap down, Fantastic views, difficult final hole (par 4). Played during the Piper Alpha Memorial Competion (25th Anniversary) and the course was in pristine condition. Much better that some of the other local courses - Feb 7 2014

Could be a gem
Played twice recently. A good challenge from tee to green. Good value at £17.50. Some very good holes but not the longest course I've played. The only negative and it's a big one. Was the rate and pace of the greens. Greens were very patchy and super slow. If they were improved it would be a delight to play.

Very welcoming
I had some time to kill before a return flight to Manchester so decided to call at Auchmill Golf Club. As there was never any intention to play golf I had no clubs, balls, or tee.
On arrival the staff were very welcoming and wanted to help me play, I was introduced to Kenny. Kenny provided me with a set of clubs and tees (I believe they were his personal set) and I bought some balls and paid for a round.
Unfortunately Kenny wasn't around when I finished the round otherwise I would have bought him a pint as a thank you.
Well done all at the golf club, keep up the good work.

Played this a few years back when it was council owned, has now been taken over by the members who are creating a very friendly and welcoming club..They deserve to be rewarded for their dedication and hard work..great layout and some very challenging holes..it’s a hidden gem in the city of Aberdeen..well worth a visit for any golfer..

Fantastic course!
On holiday for the week and googling local courses found Auchmill. The first 2 holes leave you thinking 'It's OK' but then you hit your drive on 3 and get into the course proper. From here on in the course is amazing! Fairways, greens all fantastic; the views brilliant and lots of feature holes. Don't hesitate to visit and next time we are in Aberdeen we'll be going back!!!

this course was council owned but the members have taken out a lifetime lease and is now a private course. The course its self is very well kept and narrow tree lined fairways nice little course and friendly members make you welcome

Recently played here and I found myself to be very impressed with this course. Some very daunting holes, particulary on the front 9 with lots of sloping fairways, might be best to leave the driver in the bag for that.
The condition of the course and the greens in particular are fantastic.

played this course for the third time and it seems to get better everytime, some fantastic holes the par5 6th hole has a very daunting tee shot, great value for money and we hired a buggy which made it more enjoyable, that negative revue the guy must walk about with his eyes closed or he`s fallen out with the club.
