What the club says: Auchmill Golf Course is situated in the Northfield/Bucksburn area of Aberdeen and was set out originally as a 9-hole golf course run by the Council. It was officially opened for play in 1975, having been designed by Brian Hugget, Ryder Cup player Neil Coles and Golf architect Roger Dyer, and was first and foremost an amenity used by both locals and local clubs.
The course was extended to 18 holes in 1989 and due to its popularity Auchmill Golf Club came into existence, with membership rising to around 400.

Changed Days
When you ask people if they have played at this course, the vast majority of people will come away with some pre 1980's story about kids scrambling with motorbikes and stealing balls. But yet here we are in the 21st century and still we have people passing judgement on a course they played 5, 10 and even 15 years ago. Yes the course may have had its problems but with the employment of an enthusiastic Greenkeeping Team, the somewhat neglected course is starting to take shape. There are in fact some really nice holes and some of really challenging ones. It is not by any means an easy course. Great rates for single rounds and very reasonable membership rates. To anyone who may have left a negative review in the past, please give the course another bash (when it is back on summer greens) I promise you will see a vast difference.

Round 1
First round of the year, bit hit and miss, no pun intended! Course was in OKAY condition, greens need a lot of work, but overall not in too bad shape considering the situation with the shutdown.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 100 Handicap: 20.1)

Could be a gem
Played twice recently. A good challenge from tee to green. Good value at £17.50. Some very good holes but not the longest course I've played. The only negative and it's a big one. Was the rate and pace of the greens. Greens were very patchy and super slow. If they were improved it would be a delight to play.

Very welcoming
I had some time to kill before a return flight to Manchester so decided to call at Auchmill Golf Club. As there was never any intention to play golf I had no clubs, balls, or tee.On arrival the staff were very welcoming and wanted to help me play, I was introduced to Kenny. Kenny provided me with a set of clubs and tees (I believe they were his personal set) and I bought some balls and paid for a round.
Unfortunately Kenny wasn't around when I finished the round otherwise I would have bought him a pint as a thank you.
Well done all at the golf club, keep up the good work.

GREAT COMMUNITY GOLF CLUB
Played this a few years back when it was council owned, has now been taken over by the members who are creating a very friendly and welcoming club..They deserve to be rewarded for their dedication and hard work..great layout and some very challenging holes..it’s a hidden gem in the city of Aberdeen..well worth a visit for any golfer..

Fantastic course!
On holiday for the week and googling local courses found Auchmill. The first 2 holes leave you thinking 'It's OK' but then you hit your drive on 3 and get into the course proper. From here on in the course is amazing! Fairways, greens all fantastic; the views brilliant and lots of feature holes. Don't hesitate to visit and next time we are in Aberdeen we'll be going back!!!
