What the club says: Formed in 1913 Ashton under Lyne Golf Club is a wooded course nestling in the foothills of the Pennines on the edge of the Greater Manchester conurbation. Over the years great improvements have been made to the course; we have increased its length, added bunkers, improved tees and greens and planted many, many new trees, which are an attractive feature and of course a challenge!
We are proud to have hosted Lancashire county events in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 2017 and have 2019 already confirmed, a testament to the quality of our course!
Weddings, christenings, birthdays, conferences, training days, office parties, funerals, every type of occasion can be catered for at Ashton under Lyne Golf Club.
The club house hosts a professional's shop which sells a vast range of equipment at competitive prices including all major brands. There is also full changing facilities fitted with showers.
Club Facilities
We offer a full size snooker table, a quiet lounge area and a smaller conference/function room for meetings and small dinner parties.
The function room is available for hire for conferences, and is frequently used by local & regional businesses.
Competitive company room rates are available via the club secretary or the House Manager

Good course

Good course
Played there in society midweek on arrival did not have enough course cards for each player plus food was arranged day before with club but after golf non was available.......but after consultation with chef he put some food on so well done to the chef ????????? but other than those little niggles a good course worth playing ????????????Reviewer Rating

Lovely course
First time on the course and what a great experience. Really lush, well manicured fairways, greens tricky but ran true. A good mix of holes which require good course management rather than smashing big drives.(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 87 Handicap: 14.1)

Best in the Area
The greens and fairways are in very good condition, the course is nestled between Ashton under Lyne and Oldham. It is reasonably flat, picturesque and a challenging course. The members and staff are very friendly, it has a well stocked Pro shop and good food and refreshments available.Reviewer Rating

One of the best courses in the area
This course is in excellent condition, fairways good and excellent Greens. Everyone was very friendly. The course has many interesting holes with a good combination of narrow fairways and treelined fairways. Its an easy walk no hills with a back nine including 4 Par 3's. I would definitely recommend the course(Round played: Dec 2018 - Score: 96 Handicap: 21.7)

Excellent course. Some very long Par 4s and great looking Par 3s. 18th hole of the whites is excellent. Great shaped greens. Reasonably dry considering the rain we have had. Friendly bar staff and good food.

In splendid condition
Played Sunday 20th May. The course is in superb condition and the greens are excellent. The course is set in undulating land and, although never too demanding a walk, is a tough test and well worth a visit. Has some great holes and really nice par-3s.Reviewer Rating

Nice course with undulating fairways although they are forgiving with plenty of space to open the shoulders up with the big stick. Greens were a bit bumpy and varied in speed but still early in the season so I am sure will improve. Great par 3 over ravine to finish plays longer than the yardage suggests

Because of heavy rain during the previous week or so, the course was extremely wet, even on the fairways. All the holes were playing short because of forward tees and temporary greens. Even so with all the moisture and short holes, it's still one of my favorites in the area.
