What the club says: Stamford 18 hole Golf Course is a par 70 part parkland, part moorland course, with gentle sloping hills, many tree lined fairways some with heather lined rough. Although the heather can be difficult to extract a ball from, there is ample compensation when the Spring and Autumn colours abound.

What a gem
Arrived at the coarse on a dismal day but after a quick chat and a brew in the pro shop I was informed I wasn’t the only mad man braving the weather and buddied up with a few brave souls, out we went a great group of lads they definitely took the sting out of the weather. I found the coarse very challenging the kind of coarse off the tee that makes you think about club selection and ball position rather than just hitting it as far as you can.After a challenging start the clouds partied and the sun even popped its head out with the back section of the coarse opening up, the views and scenery running in to the 18th were fantastic. All in all a great well kept coarse and a day of golf followed by a lovely carvery the best I’d had in a good while, thanks for having me Stamford ????

Everything about the club is brilliant , the course is very challenging , the greens were fantastic ,the clubhouse is very friendly , great snack after game sat on patio with a brilliant view down the first hole ,

Excellent Golf club and even more a great challenging golf course, cut into the contours of the hills of the pennies it needs all the imagination… with a little local knowledge…. Then into the club where your met by friendly locals willing to share a story or a drink on the balcony, great for a family carvery on a Sunday if your not into the golf

A great challenging play!
Stamford is a challenging course with a variety of very different holes. It’s quite hilly so be prepared for that. When in good condition it is a great play and almost ‘plays you back’ with its unfolding twists and turns. \The only reason I haven’t rated it 10 is that winter brings a whole new course for you to attack, and it can be a hard 3-4 hours!Reviewer Rating

A great challenging play!

Society golf day
We came here on Sunday 28th May from Puckersley Pigs golf society and we loved it. Mark the Professional give us a warm reception and was very helpful .The bar staff provided us with a lovely bacon sandwich and coffee before we played one of the best scenic and looked after courses we have played on.Every hole gave a different challenge to all level of handicaps.It is not a flat course but not a hard one to get round either. Afterwards it is a must to try the best Sunday carvery we have had anywhere. Hot and Fresh and plentiful.Thanks to all at Stamford for a great day. Yes we will definitely be back .

What a course, no 2 holes the saw and fantastic scenery all the way round, you could have been anywhere. Will happily come back and play again as it is in my opinion one of the best I have played in UK.Reviewer Rating

Great test of all aspects of the game. Not one to aimlessly smash a driver and hope to find it. Small firm greens mean you have to be on the top of your game from tee to cup. Guest rates at less than £30, it’s a stealReviewer Rating

Great course worth playing
My 2nd time round Stamford this time played in a Seniors Open. Little disappointed to find on arrival that there was no catering available, not even tea & coffee, poor really considering the number of Seniors in the competition. That a side friendly welcome in the pro shop. Good practice facilities, nets and putting green. Great opening par 4 hole, elevated tee to narrow fairway with brook running down left side. The par 4 second hole needs full attention, dogleg to the left to small green. And that's how it continues, some holes needing a bit of planning to score on. Greens ran okay even though they had been hollow tinned previous week. Some steepish climbs about the course but rewarded with some great views. Nice friendly clubhouse, shame about the lack of breakfast.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 77 Handicap: 6.2)

excellent course
very tight and tricky in places, sort of course you would need to play twice as the 2nd time around you would play it differently.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 94 Handicap: 17.2)

Really interesting course and the new layout works so much better so the par 3 eighteenth now finishes in front of the clubhouse(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 88 Handicap: 19.7)
