What The Club Says

The course has remained virtually unchanged since its design well over 100 years ago which is testament to the skilled design ability of Aber who looked upon The Addington as his finest creation. Like many great courses The Addington has the advantage of an ideal site. The fairways wander through mature pine and birch trees which create a real feeling of intimacy, yet the course still affords expansive views of the metropolis from hilltop tees like that at the 14th & 16th. Recent renovations and fairway irrigation bring the Addington to another level for the modern-day game.

Ranked in Golf World’s Top 100 Courses, Great Britain and Ireland and undeniably one of the finest courses in the South East, The Addington provides a true test of golf which continuously challenges and one that you will never tire of.

For those wishing to take up premium golf membership and join an established, traditional golf club, we offer options for both Individual and Corporate membership. Who knows, your name may even join the Honours Board alongside that of King George VI!

Crystal Palace's towering mast looms in the foreground, while the NatWest Tower, Canary Wharf and the 'Shard' provide a marvellous contrast to the rich woodland.

A Pleasant Surprise

In the past this course was classed as a top 100 course in the UK however over the years it has fallen behind until recently when the new owners began to restore the course to it's former glory and now it is looking like a top 50 course let alone a top 100 course.
The greens are massive undulating a tricky to tread..

A tough course for high handicaps

I was very excited to play this course, especially when we managed to get a great deal, as normal green fee is around ?125 ... there is a lot of work ongoing, but the course/greens are in a great condition. However, being a high handicaper it was very tough and the greens fast too. My only compliant was the lack of signage for the next hole. Club house and bar was very nice and welcoming.

Beautiful Course Worth Visiting

There has been a lot of chatter regarding The Addington and the extensive works currently being undertaken on the course. The Addington GC is in the process of re-modeling the course back to its original aesthetic when JF Abercromby first designed it.

Approx 6000 trees have been felled in order to encourage more sunlight to get through to the course and promote new growth to the natural heathland and fauna while installing a new fairway irrigation system and drainage. This all being done while the course remains open and in amazing condition. While it's sad that the beautiful woodland has been drastically cut back to (In places) almost bare in comparison to its former self, one can totally understand the need to do such works.

The course is still 100% playable and fairways and greens are as always impeccable.

Another year of maturing and this will be definitely one of the finest courses in England!

A pleasure to play!

Pretender

This was once known to be a top 100 course in the UK but it is far from being there at the moment it is living on past glories and has a long way to go if ever it gets back into the top 100 the course is very scrappy in the main especially for what they are charging for membership and green fees, they should bring the course up to standard if they want to charge these ridiculous fees.

Revamping

Addington is a quality course which is being taken back to its original design. Lots of work going on but when it is done it will be superb.
The course is challenging and hilly so expect a good walk. Great views of London and surrounding areas.
The staff are very friendly and there is a well stocked pro shop and the food is good.

Best course in South London

Played in a visitor 2 ball, super practice facilities. Pro shop very welcoming and provided great background to work and course projects. Course in fantastic condition and better than many courses in summer, unreal considering it was a frozen January late morning.

Greens some of the quickest I've played, fairways and tee boxes I great nick. Course challenging but fair with no overly penal rough. Stretch of holes 11-13 unreal and hard to pick a favourite. Good pace of play and let through by a member four ball early doors..

Could not recommend enough.

A very tough course to walk. Great challenge to play. Lovely to see a half way house open and selling beer. Lower marks on some categories only due to the course undergoing a huge makeover.
