What the club says: The course is 7,250 yards from the backs, with bent grass conditioning from the large tees to billiard-table greens. The captivating design includes one of the finest collection of par 3’s to be found anywhere in Europe, and an eighteenth hole which, for those who played it, is likely to go straight into their “Hall of Fame” list.

Good interesting course

On my visit to Mallorca, of the 15 in our party, 4 of us decided to play on the otherwise free day, and the vote went with Son Gual, which is one of Mallorca’s standout golfing experiences; polished, challenging, and thoughtfully designed for players who appreciate quality both on and off the course. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere feels refined: wide, manicured fairways stretch out in front of the clubhouse, framed by olive trees, lakes, and gentle rolling terrain that gives the course a spacious, almost resort-like feel without losing its competitive edge.

The layout is strategic rather than punishing. Long hitters will enjoy the generous landing areas, while those who value precision will find plenty of opportunities to play smart lines and be rewarded for it. Water features appear throughout the round in visually impressive ways, making the course scenic and memorable. Greens were generally fast, true, and well-protected, demanding a steady short game to score well.

Practice facilities are another highlight. The range is well-kept, large enough to warm up properly, and supported by short-game areas that genuinely help you prepare for the conditions on the course. Staff are friendly and professional, maintaining a premium feel from check-in to the clubhouse experience afterward.

Speaking of the clubhouse, it’s elegant without being stuffy. Terraces offer great views of the course, and the restaurant’s food is a step above what you find at many clubs, perfect for relaxing after a round. Overall maintenance is consistently top tier, from bunkers to fairways to tee boxes.

A number of reviews I read before travelling mentioned that the course is on the flightpath for Palma airport, but generally, this did not bother us, and it was interesting to see the different planes flying over, without being at all distracting. If you’re traveling to Mallorca for golf, Son Gual is absolutely worth putting near the top of your list. It’s a course that combines beauty, challenge, and hospitality in a way that feels both luxurious and welcoming. Ideal for golfers who want a memorable, well-designed round with excellent facilities to match. I’d be happy to recommend and would play again.

Wow this is a real must play course. In saying that we played it in a gale (well not exactly a gale but it was very windy) and it is quite exposed. But it was in fantastic condition when we played. Yes there are cheaper places to play on the island, but we still thought it was a really nice course to play. It is a real test of your golf but I really do want to play it in the sunshine and get a better score! The staff were very welcoming and the terrace was nice to sit and have a post golf drink and a bite to eat. The views are really nice too.

Spectacular course

This was not cheap. But everything about it said class. The fairways and George side were fantastic. Service was exquisite. Nothing to fault and the sun came out for lunch.
Oh by the way not great weather in early March in fact Christmas was much better weather.

Good course

Played here in october 2017.
Very helpful friendly staff my tee off waa booked on a Tuesday but really heavy rain just vefore i set out made it impossible to play.
Re booked the following day and got given a free buggy as a good will gesture.
Overall a little pricey at €70 but overall i really enjoyed it only downside on the front 9 there is a lot of planes overhead as you're playing as it's in their flight path.

Great course.

Expensive, but worth it!

Pity about the back of the front nine which is slightly tainted by the noise from the airport and landing planes

Putted well, reasonable irons but driver not great.

A truly amazing golf course, immaculate from tee to green with every hole providing a different challenge. It is a lot of money to play here but the experience is worth it in my opinion.
Another plus was the "son gual" hire clubs which actually turned out to be better than the set I had left at home!

A lovely course, but it's virtually under the flight path in close proximity to the airport. The noise is intrusive and rather detracts from what would otherwise be a very enjoyable experience.

You pay for quality, and this course is the best on the island. Lucky to see any other golfer on the course unlike the rest of the island. Forget the comment re the noise, it is on the landing path, however you wont notice anything as you try and work out what the carry distance is. I played 4 courses this week (June 2010), and everybody agreed that we chould have played this 4 times as opposed to the other 'tracks' we played.
