Golf Resorts to Stay at on the Costa del Sol

It should surprise nobody that the Costa del Sol boasts some of Spain’s finest family hotels. It is, after all, an area that attracts huge numbers of British tourists, as they head there in search of summer sun, sandy beaches, restaurants, shops, bars and cafes. There really is something for everybody in this part of the world.

It is also a region that attracts golfers and their families. Here we look at a few of the best golf resorts.

Eurostars Mijas Golf and Spa

Set in a  beautiful location, surrounded by the best golf courses in Spain and with fantastic views over the Mediterranean, the Eurostars Mijas is one of the most modern tourist resorts on the Costa del Sol. It comprises 105 suites that all feature a living room and fully equipped kitchen, with sizes varying from one to three bedrooms. It has a wellness and spa centre featuring a host of treatments and leisure facilities. The hotel also has a large outdoor swimming pool set in gardens with palm trees and sunbeds and other services such as a gym, outdoor jacuzzi and a hire desk for vehicles. It is located in the Mijas Golf Urbanization, situated above Fuengirola and in the surroundings we have five of the best golf courses in Spain, with a total of 5,600 hectares. A few metres from the hotel are Los Lagos and Los Olivos, both 18-hole courses designed by Robert Trent Jones.

Parador de Malaga Golf

The Parador is located on the water, with direct access to a magnificent beach. It also boasts a swimming pool and tennis court. The Parador is a two-storey building with spacious, comfortable guest rooms that offer great sea views. It also has an 18-hole course, golf academy, three putting greens and club, cart and electric car rental. Finca Cortesin

Set on a 215-hectare estate and surrounded by undisturbed nature, Finca Cortesin is an award-winning hotel that features a championship golf course, spa and sports facilities, along with a beach club and shopping area. Puente Romano

Barcelo Marbella

The Barcelo Marbella is in a magnificent natural setting, with one of the largest and best golf complexes in Europe, the Guadalmina Golf Club, featuring 45 holes  where hotel guests get special rates. It is a  colonial-style hotel located in Guadalmina, one of Marbella's most exclusive neighbourhoods.
