Parnham Pushes for Place at Gtour Final

The latest round of the Gtour saw Lee Parnham take a big step to booking his place in the Grand Final at Aphrodite Hill Resort Cyprus with a victory at Moor Allerton.

Parnham scored 33 points but took the top spot on countback edging out Peter Dawson and Adam Shearwood by 1 point on the back 9 scores.  Parnham's win moved him to top spot in the Birdie Flight Order of Merit.

David Wilson and Bish Niewola followed closely wtih 32 points and the latest round on the 2013 Gtour saw Nikki Lewis’ secure another top-ten finish taking him to second in the Eagle Flight order of Merit and second on the overall table.

After the round Lee Parnham commented:

“Although the course was in tip top condition as always I knew that due to the weather it wasn’t going to take a massive score to be in the reckoning so I tried not to be too hard on myself for any bad shots.

Once again it was an  enjoyable day playing with a great bunch of guys and It’s hard to believe after five years I can still be drawn out with three partners I haven’t played with before such is the tours popularity.”

Michael Goodwin still leads the way at the top of the Order of Merit as the tour heads into the second half of the season next month with a big weekend coming up in July.

Mentmore Golf and Country clubs hosts’ events on both the Saturday and Sunday as players have the chance to post some big points in their quest to reach Aphrodite Hills at the start of next year.
