This is the longest 3 wood we have ever tested
Part of Callaway's exciting Quantum family for 2026, the manufacturer's new fairway woods are once again set to be a hugely popular addition to the market, but just how well do they perform?
Golfshake's Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall has long been a fan of Callaway's fairway woods, so he was thrilled to put them once more to the test for an indoor Trackman session, where he reviewed and compared three distinct models: Quantum Max-D, Quantum Max, and Quantum Triple Diamond.
Callaway's New Quantum Fairway Woods
Ryan has described the technology within these woods, which includes Speed Wave 2.0 that has helped to optimise weight positioning and enhance ball speeds, while a new Step Sole design has improved turf interaction, with the addition of the Ai-crafted FlexFace helping to fine-tune the essential characteristics of speed, spin and launch.
You will find that the Max-D comes in a larger 190cc head for added stability and forgiveness, while both the Max and Triple Diamond are more compact at 160cc to provide that cleaner look that better players love.

Breaking down the numbers, Ryan analyses these woods in terms of ball speed, launch, spin, carry and dispersion, so you can discover which of them best fits your game.
Ryan says: "I love Callaway fairway woods anyway, they always feel, to me, the best out there, they really do, I just feel that you can hit them pretty hard and they go fairly straight most of the time. If you've got a fairway wood that is two, three or four years old, there is definitely a huge step up in terms of technology that we're seeing in here, where it's easier to hit and easier to launch, it's coming off faster, the spin is more tight and controlled."
