Which new Callaway Chrome golf ball is right for your game?

Callaway Chrome has become one of the most illustrious names in the world of golf ball manufacturing - and for very good reason.

Building on that reputation, the brand has launched its new Chrome Tour family for 2026, including the Chrome Tour, Chrome Tour X and Chrome Soft.

There is no disputing the quality and the engineering standards deployed in their creations, but the question to ask is which of them would be most suitable for your game?

Golfshake's Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall, has put each of these new golf balls to the test by hitting a variety of shots - with a 60° wedge, 7 iron, and driver - at a range of different swing speeds to see how that impacts their performance in terms of feel, spin, carry and total distance. Ryan has the answers for you through indoor testing accompanied by Trackman data analysis, all of which can help you to discover which new Chrome golf ball is for you.

You can find out more by watching the video below or directly on YouTube.

But let's first take a glance at what you can expect from each of the models.

2026 Chrome Tour & Chrome Tour X Golf Ball

Chrome Tour

Both of these new four-piece golf balls feature the exciting Tour Fast Mantle, which has been introduced to increase ball speed by offering a stiffer spring at impact. This marks a first in golf ball technology and makes them faster and 16% more responsive than previous Callaway models.

Each of the Chrome Tour balls also present Advanced Seamless Tour Aero with an optimised Hybrid Aero Pattern that encourages greater distances and ball flight consistency. Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X both are manufactured with Precision Technology as the Tour Urethane Cover boasts exceptional feel and enhanced greenside control.

2026 Chrome Soft Golf Ball

Chrome Soft

Like both of the Chrome Tour models, the new Chrome Soft possesses the Tour Fast Mantle, meaning that it's faster and 16% more responsive than what golfers had before.

The Advanced Seamless Tour Aero with an optimised Hybrid Aero means that you can anticipate a higher ball flight, and improved distance and consistency over each shot, with this three-piece ball being manufactured for those players who most value heightened touch and feel around the greens.

When Are The New Callaway Chrome Golf Balls Released?

Chrome Tour X

Golfers can purchase the new balls on 30/01/2026 at retail with the pre-sale date being 06/01/2026.

In terms of pricing, the RRP is £49.99, 59.99 EURIR, 65 EUR and $57.99 per dozen.

But which of the new models should you favour? Golfshake's Ryan Rastall has the answers below.
