OGIO's 2023 Golf Bag Lineup Stands Out From The Crowd

By: Golfshake Editor | Thu 23 Mar 2023

There’s been a lot of change within the Callaway company recently, notably the increased prominence of their TopGolf brand within their overall business. However, another area which has seen notable investment is their OGIO luggage and golf bags.

The brand has long been thought of as a market leader in the sports luggage space, and partnerships with the likes of the Aston Martin F1 team have only served to further this. The golf division though, has seen its place within the market fluctuate. The products have always been great, but seem to have disappeared from view as quickly as they’d arrive.

2023 then, is a bit of a refresh for the OGIO golf business. They relaunched a series of bags in Summer 2022, but this year sees those technologies built on to produce a lineup that really stands out on the course (and in stores!). OGIO have gone as far as to partner with YouTube influencer Peter Finch, a relationship which makes a lot of sense given the wider OGIO luggage range Finch’s frequency of travel.

We’ve had some time with their All Elements range since first seeing them at the JCB Golf & Country Club late last year (a High Performance Partner of the Callaway brand), and have really enjoyed putting the bags through their paces.

OGIO Stand Bag

There’s two main offerings from OGIO this year, the All Elements Stand Bag, and the All Elements Silencer Cart Bag, and both lean on their new ‘Mild-to-Wild’ design strategy. We have to admit taking a shine to some of those towards the wilder end of the spectrum in terms of design (notably the ‘Double Camo’), but there’s plenty of options to suit all taste, with the designs also extending into their travel covers too.

In terms of features, the bags are fully loaded, and despite both the stand and cart versions being relatively light, boast some of the most unique elements we’ve seen in a golf bag for a while. The cart offering has OGIO’s innovative Silencer Club Protection System, which uses a series of moulded, high-density foam cylinders to protect your clubs from banging together and making noise while you walk the course. This is one of those things which you don’t quite realise how pleasant it is until you use it … and the lack of constant clattering from your irons whilst pushing your bag is blissful.

The stand bag features the same ‘Woode’ material and design, but has an 8-way divider (rather than the 15-way in the cart bag), which is perfectly adequate for all golfers, regardless of bag composition. The smaller amount of dividers also helps for a lighter overall weight, with the bags having a solid 4-point strap system that distributes the weight of the bag evenly across your shoulders. The products have all the usual accompaniments too, from umbrella holders to ball silos, and enough pockets to keep you stocked up for even the longest days on the course.

It is though the designs that we feel really set these products apart. We’d argue that as many people are choosing their next bag best on shelf appeal as those that are browsing through the features and benefits, as much as the manufacturers might wish that this wasn’t the case! And if the fight for selection is purely cosmetic, then the OGIO All Elements range is going to stand a pretty good chance of coming out on top. Our one gripe is that, if anything, the stand back could be slimmed down even more - although this is more of a personal preference than a dealbreaker for selection.

OGIO Cart Bag

As mentioned earlier, one of our favourite things about the range too is how the funky designs carry through into the wider range, specifically the travel covers. The Alpha Max, Mid, and Standard travel colours come in a myriad of options - including our favourite the Bananarama! -  and really help the bags stand out at the luggage belt. We headed to the PGA Show in January, and as dozens of black travel covers arrived into Orlando airport, it was incredibly easy to spot the OGIO products!

All in, we’ve been massively impressed with the 2023 range from OGIO, and if it’s any indication of where the brand is now headed, we can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
