KBS Unveils New Players Graphite Iron Shaft
One of the world’s leading golf shaft brands, KBS, has launched the innovative Players Graphite Iron (PGI) Shaft that will break the stereotype that graphite shafts are aimed at players with a slower swing speed.
The KBS Players Graphite Iron shaft offers tremendous results for players of all abilities - from junior level to elite - and the impressive performance measures up to steel shafts while featuring graphite shaft technology.
Golfers will be able to enjoy the benefits of the graphite shaft without sacrificing distance or even control.
“The new graphite wrap technology incorporated in the PGI shaft eliminates the variables for more consistency and shot control, while providing the same optimal tight tolerances and dispersion as the pioneering KBS Tour Steel shaft in a lighter weight that makes it easier to swing,” noted Director of R&D and master shaft-maker Kim Braly.
He added: “Lower handicappers will notice the playability immediately, due to the steel-like performance in a graphite shaft – but the new shaft isn’t limited to that category of golfer.
“A shaft that boasts a mid to high launch and spin is for anyone from beginner to the elite player, which is the beauty of working with graphite and being able to fit different characteristics within a shaft that provides unmatched shot making and control.”
Initially, the shaft will be offered in Parallel Tip options before Taper Tip choices will be launched early into 2022.
The new KBS PGI is offered in weights ranging in 10-gram increments from 50 to 100 grams with coinciding differentiating flex patterns.
Moreover, the PGA shaft provides the same dispersion as every other KBS golf shaft that is present in its category.
It boasts the same frequency (4.0) as most of its steel predecessors, plus a dynamic mid-kick point reaction per shaft giving the player 5% better trajectory; 5% more control and 5% more distance than any other graphite shaft currently available on the market.
Furthermore, the new shaft can also change the method of how a club fitter conducts their sessions.
Braly noted: “This innovation makes KBS the first in the industry to allow the fitter to choose Hi/Mid/Low flight patterns at the same initial frequency - the biggest variable for club and shaft fitting - and the PGI iron shaft can eliminate the inconsistencies that come with fitting graphite shafts completely."
KBS partners with every club manufacturer and their shafts are played by more than 300 Tour players worldwide.
They offer up to 30 different shafts through the golf bag - including 18 iron options featuring weights and flexes.
Additionally, there is also the TG Graphite Wood shaft; a popular Tour Graphite Hybrid option, four wedge shaft offering different weights, flexes, and trajectory; and two putter shafts - including the 1 One Step.
The KBS PGI Iron is now available at an MSRP price of approximately £65-70; for further details or to order your KBS shafts, visit www.kbsgolfshafts.com.
