The spectacular Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in the Dominican Republic – home to the iconic Pete Dye-designed Teeth of the Dog Golf Course – has confirmed that it will reopen to guests on July 1.

The five-star resort has been closed due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic since mid-March. During its closure, the resort’s management has been working closely with HS Consulting Group in Mallorca, Spain to review all enhanced health and safety protocols and certify they are effective in the prevention of all infectious diseases.

As a result, the resort has initiated its new “Casa Cares” program touching virtually every area of the property including significant investment in new equipment and employee training. The robust health and safety practices will continue to remain a top priority post-opening and will extend to updated procedures for its three celebrated Pete Dye-designed golf courses.

“In the wake of COVID-19 crisis, we realized it was incumbent upon our team to take our focus on health and safety to an even higher level,” says Andres Pichardo Rosenberg, President of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas. “Rest assured, the well-being of our guests is our upmost priority and we look forward to continuing to provide the finest vacation experience in the Caribbean.”

Ideal for creating a “world of your own,” Casa de Campo offers an array of exceptional fully appointed villas perfect for golf groups. The villa options range from three to 11 bedrooms with  stylish living areas, a private pool as well as myriad creature comforts. From secluded Garden Villas showcasing the area’s abundant flora to the tranquil splendor of the Caribbean coast in an Oceanfront Villa, each style offers contemporary designs.

Daily breakfast, private maid service and full access to a wide range of on-site activities are additional highlights of villa stays as well as use of four-passenger golf carts for easy travel throughout the 7,000-acre resort, complimentary Wi-Fi and unlimited use of the resort’s fitness center.

Since opening in 1974, Teeth of the Dog has been a “bucket list” layout for those seeking to play one of the top 50 golf courses in the world. Dye’s design hallmarks are all present: railroad ties, vast waste areas, peninsula greens and tees, hand-sculpted putting surfaces and a unique assortment of pot bunkers. “The Heaven 7” oceanfront holes are astoundingly beautiful, causing Dye to famously quip: “I created 11 holes and God created seven.”

The resort’s world-class Golf Learning Center is a “must visit” when on property. Highlighted by Trackman and BODITRAK technology, it features two indoor hitting bays for rapid game improvement, year-round training, individual and group golf lessons and schools, and expert club-fitting and repair. Residing on 21 acres of “pure grass,” the PGA Tour-quality facility also showcases practice greens for honing putting, chipping and pitching games as well as unlimited use of the pristine outdoor range for full shots. On-course instruction is also available.

Casa de Campo is offering free cancellation for all bookings. For more information on the resort, please call 800.877.3643, email [email protected], visit www.casadecampo.com.do/, or check out Golfbreaks.com.
