algarve write up so far

we are now 3 rounds into our algarve competition, so far there has been some extremely good golf played but also some even more extremely bad golf!!!

the first day was kicked of at Gramacho golf course in slightly cold 10 degrees with the defending champion Martin Millichip driving as per usual straight down the middle of the fairway, and during the round also had an albatross 2 on the par 5 6th hole by holing out from 200 yards with a 5 iron, helping him to a starting score of 36 points and joint first place with Russ Middleton from essex.

our second round was played at Silves Golf course a very nice shorter course and very picturesque with the hillside ups and downs to try to overcome, again Martin Millichip lead the score charts and on countback from Jimmy Govere took the first place

the third day and most interesting so far was played at a new course for us who have attended before at Vila Sol, the day didnt have a great start to it as a few of us took a wrong turn and eventuall arrived at the course with 15 mins to spare, this obviously had an adverse effect on everyone as the scores were not as fruitful in attaining as the previous two days, but with no suprise to any-one Martin Millichip for the second day running shared the spoils with Jimmy Govere but this time Jimmy took the first place on countback getting revenge for day two.

Overall places so far with two days of competition remaining remain close for some of the lower prizes but martin Millichip is currently running away with it and has a 6 point lead over russ middleton and Tim Hawkins in third place a few points further back, not that anyone is interested but Me, i am currently in 6th place a whopping 15 points behind martin,

can this be overturned with 2 days remaining- playing the way i have been i dont think martin has anything to worry about from me!!!
