Have just become a member
of Southern Valley Golf Club in Kent. I played there quite a lot anyway and did have a pro-rata membership for a few months a couple of years ago but I have now taken out a full seven day membership.
I was playing a couple of times a month but wanted to play every week without having to pay higher green fees for playing at the weekends as this is when I am generally able to play. Membership is £840.00 per year so £70.00 a month on Standing Order and I am now looking forward to playing the monthly medal and other comps that they have on.
There is a monthly medal as well as a mid-week comp. on the second Wednesday of every month and this weekend there is a swindle on Saturday so that's another game I can play. I think the weekend after there is a Tombstone tournament which sounds like it could be fun, as long as I get a decent number of shots!
Anyway, just thought I'd share that as I am looking forward to playing a lot more this year, especially when the weather gets better. Hopefully I will be able to put three decent rounds together to get a respectable handicap as well.

Well done Richard. Your game will only improve by entering as many comps as you can & being surrounded by like minded golfers.

Nice one Richard.
I'm hoping to join a club this year at long last! Mainly to get myself playing more regular.
