One of the best seasons for a while, and the new blood coming to the fore in America suggests this year's Ryder Cup will be a tough test for the Europeans.
Perhaps not a playing stat from 2011 but (sadly) newsworthy none the less was the death of Seve. Seve was world no.1, under the original ranking system, from early '83 through to Sept '86 when the current (US biased?) ranking system came into being.
