Which course?
Here is a poser for Christmas.
There are two courses, both 6570yds par 72. Each has 3 x 5's, 3 x 3's and 12 x 4's.
Which would you find hardest?
Course A : The par 4's average 390yds, the 5's 580yds and the 3's 210yds
Course B : The par 4's average 430yds, the 5's 500yds and the 3's 130yds.

I'll take Course A please. The shorter par 4's should mean fewer bogies and more birdies.

Good question Lyth which I'd answer differently depending if it was playing against someone I knew in matchplay or by myselfi in strokeplay. In matchplay I'd go for the I'd go for Course B as (distance wise) there is no reason why I can't get up in two on the fours and fives. Strokeplay is... well... strokrplay.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year Lyth, keep posting.

not sure which would be harder, but score wise i would more than likely take more strokes on course A.
On B hopefully i could reach the par3 from the tee, which i doubt i could do on course A, so that is potentially 3 shots saved, allowing for two putts per hole.
Not being a particularly long hitter I doubt the 40 yards shorter distance on the par 4's would ensure I'm GIR, the same applies to the par 5's, therefore I would expect to be on a 580yd hole in 4, but possibly with 3x 5 wood i could reach the 500yd mark, again a saving of potentially 5 shots.

Def B because I can see alot more GIR, and I would still be close to chip on the par 4s. I would not be on many of the 5s & 3s in reg on A. Also be on only a few of par 4s on A.
Dave CAC handed Geordie. ps What a strange question!

They're both the same length. Probably prefer A but in all honesty I don't mind either
