Subs time for you?
After holding subs for 4 years the club proposed a £15 increase this year, taking full subs from £570 to £585 (£610 with a locker). The club has had another very good year, and in truth could hold the subs for another year but doing that could have created a huge problem further down the road.
The invoice has arrived... great to see it immediately before Christmas.
So what and when is yours?

Golf does not come cheaper than that, Brian, you are indeed fortunate.

Yes , mine have just come through also with a rise from £550 to £570 + £30 Locker, not to bothered about the increase first in 3 years i believe.

Dave & Brian is does indeed seem very good value at less than £600 PA. I assume you are both playing decent courses judging by your handicaps, Dont think ive played with either of you yet. Im looking at around £1000 pa for a decent course here in Sussex, which is putting me off in these frugal times. Unless someone knows of a good deal around.
I was going to join Hollingbury in Brighton in early 2011, filled in the application, Emailed and chased up by phone. No response. They dont need new members me thinks.

DP, I'm a member at Cleveland GC. And Guinness has just gone up to £2.64, which I guess is cheaper than down south...

You guys all seem very lucky with the subs you get away with. I am in the Surrey area and the cheapest you can find is £1200 and most of the decent clubs are the wrong side of £1400 per year and they all still have joining fees!

Mine came through this morning. £900.06 including fees, levies, EGU, etc. Will be £90 per month Feb to Nov incl. That's the cost of two midweek vistor fees per month

My old club would of been £1100 inc EGU fees, locker etc, which is why I left. I paid £350 at my new club for Oct - Mar. I'm leaving & joining a new one which will cost me £680 joining fee & £740 green fees. The initial outlay will sting but it's worth it. A proper members club with a 28 bay driving range & only 10mins from home. Could have found cheaper clubs but they came at either a cost of a poor course, 45min drive or full of members who didn't care about the club / course.

The main priority for me when selecting a golf club is that it must have excellent greens.

I was told last week I can get a 5 day membership at the Bristol for £260 through work. As it's only 10 minutes from work to get there, I may join there too for mid-week post work games
