Some newbie questions.

I have a few questions lingering on my head, Since im not a member of a proper club yet ( Hope to be soon though ), And this site seems to be full of knowledgable people i thought it would be a good idea to post....

My second question is how do you make a ball stop on touchdown, Most of my balls hit the green and carry on rolling for a long distance, Usually roll way off the green which can be annoying if the hole is on an elevated platform, which means then i need to chip it back up and if im really unlucky is rolls off the other side. Anyway to make the ball stop?
