UK handicap 'v' USA handicap
Bored and surfing the t'interweb I came across the basics of how the handicap is managed in the U.S. so thought why not do the conversion and see how it compares.
Basically take the top 10 scores from the last 20 rounds, including friendly knocks. Add all the scores, e.g. +3, +4, +3 etc, and divide by 10 then multiply by the frig factor of 0.96.
I wish we had the American system. My club handicap is 5.4 but under the U.S. system it would be 2.9... I'd love to be off 3 again.

Not a perfect converion in the UK without the slope and course rating but is an interesting comparion.
There is also a little tool in Golfshake look under the tools link of the score tracker.

Brian,
I have THREE Hcp's at present. Club = 5.6, GS = 2 & USGA = Plus 1.6.
Just putting ALL scores here on GS as opposed to your club Hcp shows a difference to begin with.

Brian, I'd love to be off 5!!! Mind you, using the other system does not make you a better golfer, it would just appear that way.
