Golf bags and cars
I'm thinking about buying a Ford Fiesta or a Honda Jazz and was wondering whether anyone has experience of how well golf bags fit in the boot of either.
I'm resigned to having to take the woods out to lay them in seperately, but if I'm unable to fit a carry bag with irons in then I may have to start looking at a bigger car.

I hired a Fiesta a while ago and the only sensible solution was to drop one of the split rear seats down or stick them on the rear seat. Very small. Don't know about the Jazz but I wouldn't have thought it would be much better.
When I replaced my car this year I just went around dealerships with my golf bag, very funny in the Mercedes garage where the salesman thought I was kidding - and then was surprised, despite his reassurances, that I couldn't fit my bag in.
My advice is to get a new Mondeo (although probably steer clear of the 2.5T model I've got - not that economical...). We've had 3 people, one carry bag and two tour bags wiith electric trollies in the boot..

Neville, take a look at a Honda Civic. Its like the Tardis! I had three tour bags in the boot of mine yesterday.

Sorry Tim, but did you say that you had "3 people" in the boot"? Is there something in your nature that you're not telling us???
Thanks for information though. I am taking my golf clubs up to the dealership now!
Richard, thanks for that info too. I have a Honda Civic on the radar too, which I'll hopefully get to see tomorrow.

I can get a carry/stand bag with irons in the boot of my wifes Fiesta fine. I do have to take out the Driver etc
It will also fit 2 stand bags without much problem but for tour bags/trolley bags I've always tended to stick on the back seat.

Thanks for your help and observations, guys. I was amazed that the boot for the Jazz was much bigger than I imagined, although I still had to remove the woods before getting the bag in seperately. Still have to decide what car to go with, but at least I know i CAN get my clubs into whatever car I end up with!
