Handicap calcs

Posted by: user8 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Sun 7th Aug 2005 21:49 | Last Reply

The handicap system is either faulty or not working on my account I have now played seven rounds only one of which has been under a 28 handicap and it is showing me as having a handicap of 25.7 it is not adjusting my handicap up after all those higher rounds. If it is correct can you explain how as I am also using another program same congu setting and it gives me a handicap of 27.6 after 7 rounds Robert

Hi.

I've double checked and everything seems fine based on my calculations and understanding of the CONGU system.

Basically CONGU only allows a maximum of 2 over per hole, so if you shot a 7 on par 4 then for handicap purposes your gross score gets adjusted by -1.

Your first 3 rounds ended up with an adjusted score of 92,97, 96 this is + 24,27,26 over the SSS which is then added together and divided by 3 to give you a starting handicap of 25.7.

After that your shot the following over SSS : 26, 27,27,26,27 which means you handicap doesn't change.

Hope this makes sense.

Regards,

Darren.
