Who is next to dominate??

Posted by: user250721 | Mon 21st Nov 2011 19:08 | Last Reply

Evening all. After seeing years of domination by certain players, Hogan, Palmer, Nicklaus and Woods (to name a few) do you see 1 player in particular generally dominating over the next 10 years or so?Can Donald do it for a period of time with all the younger players coming though? Could the likes of Fowler, Manassero, Day, McIlroy, Johnson and even Tom Lewis step up and dominate?Whatever your opinion is it's surely an interesting few years in front of us!!

Imo I think it's highly unlikely that we will see a one player domination in the near future, Since Tiger's domination he has set the bench mark with conditioning and mind  management and all the top players now excel in both these departments. As highly unlikely as i believe Tiger can get back to dominating i certainly would not bet against it,

im with dave l, tigers abuse/commitment to technique at such an early age and his confidence (short game) and mental strength is now a model that others follow, the path is there, some arguably with more natural talent, i think golf will get tighter...it will take something special as things develop (it may even go crazy and become like F1 as technology changes, best composites/product developments giving better advantages etc..for me this would be sad but still..!!) you will have those few that put more in or are able to be a little different, i think we will see the same 10 names regular but no Tiger woods effect for a while, i also dont think hes finished at all....

I dont think we will see the likes of tiger woods dominance again in the near future. We are going through a new era in golf where the trophies will be spread among more players. In the last 13 majors only 2 have been won by past major winners. Dont think this has happened ever in history. Even if Tiger was to get back to his best I still think the pack would be nearer than ever before. But who knows what is around the corner. I think its better for golf not trying to guess who will come second.

Dave CAC handed Geordie.

Although I can't see it in the near future, someone will emerge from the pack or arrive on the scene and dominate. It happens in all sports where someone is simply better than the rest. The only one from that list that has that something really special who could go on and trully dominate is Rory Mcilroy.
