GPS App for Blackberry

Posted by: user103169 | Tue 15th Nov 2011 18:57 | Last Reply

Does anyone use a gps on the Blackberry Bold ? I've been using swing by swing, and whilst it seems to be accurate, it is quite slow to load up , and I'm not sure the Blackberry uses the app to it's full potential...... Any thought's / recommendations would be welcomed

Greenfinder gps is fantastic app cheaply priced and very accurate, once downloaded you get 5 free trial rounds before you need to buy

just downloaded Nswing which looks good..... not tried it on the course but the features look better than swing by swing.

You get 3 free course downloads after that you have to pay a small subscription.

I'll post a review once I;ve used it on the course

I use Intelligolf on my Nokia N95, my son used it on his Blackberry until he "upgraded". I find it very useful have been using it for over 2 years now.

You can use their course editor overlaid on Google maps to add upto 3 aditional personal points on the course, i.e. Lay up before ditch, carry fairway bunker.

There are no ongoing costs once purchased whilst on the latest version, have had one version upgrade in the time I have had the software and tthe version I bought was at least 18 months old at the time.

It has a demo version to try out first before you buy.

The other thing to bear in mind when using a phone GPS in competitions is your phone must not have either compass or "spirit Level" capabilities as per the EGU rules:
