Handicap Certs
Hi All,
Just a quick question I was wondering about......
I've not yet tried to use a golfshake handicap for an away day and wondered if others had and, if so, if they were generally accepted by clubs requiring proof of handicap.
Anyone got any experience of this?

With your standard of play, I doubt you would have any trouble playing away.

Many thanks John.
I only wish the world was as trusting as you!

Hi Paul we are extremey open in that our handicap will 'generally' and be 'widely recognised' for play on golf courses around the world.
The general rule of thumb is that for any 'official' Open club competitions it's unlikely they will be accepted due to by design 'open club competitions' being for club members. That said in the past I have known Golfshakers use our golf handicap for club events.
If you are in doubt give the club a quick call.
The link below is from a few years back when a US member was looking to use our handicap to play some of the old prestigous courses and shows those that would or wouldn't accept.
It's worth noting the 3rd on the no list is only no for the main course and which stipulates below 24 on their main course, but they will now accept on production of a full GS golf certificate showing last rounds etc.
I'm also raising the profile with the others and pushing to get all courses to accept for use in social play/society golf etc

Hi Darren,
Many thanks for the comprehensive response. Very happy to hear from the horses mouth just where golfshake credentials stand.
I appreciate that you're likely to have the one or two clubs that turn their collective noses up but pleased to hear that generally a cert from you would be accepted.
Thanks again,
Paul
