Sitwell Park at Rotherham is superb... Its on Open Fairways too....

And like my good friend Mr Beech from Maltby says Bondhay is a cracking course...

Tankersley is a nice course but I don't know the pay and play price. Also played stocksbridge but wouldn't recommend it. far too hilly for my liking . Bondhay is nice but it has 99 bunkers I was told.So you need to be good out of them.

+1 for Bondhay. It's not the bunkers that are the problem, it's the pathetic little trees which you always get stuck behind - and the prevailing wind.

Sitwell is great too - College Pines hmm.

i have played Bohnday once earlier on this year and although i thought the coarse was a good lay out and the view down the 18th was most certainly superb i felt it was not so much the amount of bunkers that made my day difficult (as i play of 25 i'm kinda used to them lol)  but the quality of the bunkers and sand within them that let it down massively the first thing i remember from my day there is the 2inch thick tree root in the green side bunker to the right of the 18th!!

Kevin you need to join CGL, them guys are the guys to tell you about Yorkshire and Northern Courses. Neil and Tim (although Tim's a southerner) are members like me.

Me and Neil are also members of Doncaster Town Moor!

i play town moor alot as i only live in bessie myself john and can i just take this opportunity  to say how well their greens are playing for this time of year!!!! played the lakes coarse at ping the other week and they where descraseful!!! so much sand on them you where leaving crators where you walked!!! i am certainly considering a membership at town moor next year as it's a tidy little coarse and all the people i've bumped into have been very friendly on and around the coarse.

Kevin, Neil was a member of Gainsbrough but left because of the state of it.

Town Moor greens are superb and the associate membership is brilliant it allows you play other courses instead of being tied down to one:

£100 Mon - Sat

Congu Handicap

5 Free Games

£12 a game afterwards

Crookhill Park was always one of my favourite courses.

It's a municiple course, so could get busy at weekends.

Watch out for my dad at Town Moor, he's been a member there for quite a while now.

I think the members at Bondhay would be very dissapointed at having their course described as a MUNICIPAL. That's 1 thing it certainly isn't, no i'm not a member though have considered it. The comments on bunker standards are spot on which is a pity considering there are so many.

Why not look at Wath GC, doing a lot of drainage work to make it more attractive in the winter months. Sandhill GC is worth a visit and dependant on your  criteria, many will not be surprised I mention that, Lindrick can be played at times for £30 each though you need a 4 ball for that price. Check their website.
