night before the golfshake open.
How many of you are staying at the hotel the night before the open ?
If there are a few beers to be had i will sell it to the wife as a 2day affair (probably wont use that word exactly).
Its a bit of a trek from the south coast on the day, but, also dont wont to be Billy no mates if i book the hotel !

There's another thread somewhere that someone else is staying over.
I've got stuff to sort the day before, which I'm shifting around now, but will almost certainly staying over too - its 3.5 hours so an early start won't be happening.
Besides, I've got Quality Control testing of the Guinness to carry out.

As much as i would love to stay over, it turns out we will be breaking the journey with a stop at my mums house in Hertfordshire on the thurs night.
My wife has arranged it today so that my kids can stay with their Gran.
Oh well, i will probably feel better for it on the friday morning !!
See you all on friday.

Sensible decision, Tim, Dave is well known for knocking out a few of the competitiors on the night before with his drinking antics. I too will be driving up on the friday and hope that a later time is allocated to allow for this.

Dave seems pretty desperate to find someone to lead astray John - no Millichips this year though!

Having read John's post about Dave's cunning plan to knock out a few competitors with excessive alcohol the night before I'll plan my arrival carefully - not leaving the northeast till about 5pm... a funeral on the afternoon.
But I will definitely be Guinness sampling to aid with a good night's sleep. Then up early for a 10 mile run before doing 20 lengths in the pool and a big fry up.

I don't think Dave has a cunning plan Brian, it just comes naturally to him!

Brian ,I'll race you , I concide in advance the 10 mile run and the 20 lenghts .So the best I could hope for is an honourable half if I win the Guiness and the Brekkie..http://www.golfshake.com/scripts/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.gif" title="laugh" width="20" />
