Advanced Stats
Just wondered how many of you use the advanced stats cards golfshake does?
Since using them I feel its really helped me know where I need to work on my game to improve and have seen the handicap come down from 24 to 18.8 in a few months.
For the 4 rounds of golf I played in Spetember I had the following.
Ave Score 91.5
2.11 Puts per hole (next part of the game to work on)
48.15% FIR
25% GIR
My GIR has gone up every month (bar 1) since I started using them in March too.
For me they really are a must if you want to improve.

I hit one green today in regulation figures yet played to my handicap.

tI'd agree.
Some rounds my GIR can be low. But if you hit the GIR you could be facing a 3 putt from 40 ft, or miss the GIR and chip on and be looking at a 1 putt from 4ft.
Just think its interesting too look at them as a bigger picture over a period of time/ammount of rounds.

Yes, Stuart, I was showing off, I do not normally hit any greens in regulation. Never forget that the third shot is the most important in golf.

Didn't need stats to tell me my short game was good on the weekend it stood out a mile , not quite sure why it happened just hope it continues. The first chip in I have had for ages and got up and down five times. Still only played to my hcp , but was happy as conditions wern't great and got worse (wind and rain) I'll take a look at the advanced stats as i haven't done them before and would be good to see how good or bad areas of my game actually are .http://www.golfshake.com/scripts/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/omg_smile.gif" title="surprise" width="20" />
My prediction is its my short game !http://www.golfshake.com/scripts/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/cry_smile.gif" title="crying" width="20" />

They've confirmed what I've thought for a while. I'm stunning around the green but inconsistent off the tee. On the good driving days I'm either side of level par. If I'm having a mare I'm up around 80.
Its making me ask questions of my game. Do I need to get properly fitted for a driver? It is that bad. Or are there other aspects of my make up that need looking at, e.g. is it a red mist thing when I pull out the big stick?
But having all that info seems to get forgotten when I get to the club. I turn up, have a couple of Guinness then off to the first tee and away we go. I've been down to practice about 4 times this year and only made it as far as the practice green once... more Guinness.

Brian, you and Dave Ley are of the same mould, especially with the Guiness.
