Wish I had found this error earlier

From the back end of last season to about 2 weeks ago I had reached a level of golf that was on average a 18h/c....I have had rounds/weekends where I was playing to 10 and periods where by I was playing to 20. A month ago I was in the latter and had been for a few weeks.......this sounds like the normal trials and frustrations of playing golf

My main problem has been inconsistancy with ALL clubs bar the putter

I had been having lessons but they didn't seem to help me move forward and tbh I'm not over the moon with the new pro at our place, so I decided to video myself a few times on the range and at our short hole area to see if I could see anything. I the one obvious thing that kept standing out ( and my pro did try to fix this....) was that I kept taking the club back well inside, the pro tried to get me to force my hands out low, wide and further in front of me but all this did was to feel very wrong and I could not find a stable swing with any rhythm, so it did not stick

When I looked at my own videos of myself I noticed that at the start of the backswing I was picking the club up and rotating my left wrist round - it was this that was bringing the clubhead well inside and putting me in a bad top of backswing position and causing an inconsistant impact face angle. I concentrated only on this error and at first it felt weird in the transistion phase of the swing in that I felt like I couldn't unload with control but now I'm used to it and the results are superb.  The straightness and accuracy of all my clubs has shot up in the last week. I play eleven holes in the morning sometimes before work and the last two times I have been 4 under h/c and 6 under h/c for these eleven holes alone. I now can't wait to put it into play in my comps now it feels natural.

A long story I know but I wish my pro had noticed it before I did and I just wanted to put it out there in case it is something that may help somebody.
