You pick it, I've played in it.
And the worst weather experience on a golf course; the lightning strike that laid 8 of us out. Thankfully not a direct strike to any of us, just hit the ground very close. You get a split second feeling of your hair standing on end, then BANG!!! I came to laid across my bag, and my brolley in bits.
Strangely enough at the first rumble of thunder I imitate an Olympic sprinter as I head for the clubhouse.

23rd November 2008. Staverton Park. Golfshake.com - End of Season 'Shindig'. Darren is known for organising rubbish weather but this day he did us proud
When we arrived they were clearing a light snowfall off the frozen solid green. Torrential freezing rain saw a delay to the start and the course almost closed. The first four groups went off in the torrential rain. As I was in group 6, it had almost stopped when I teed off. Then we had bright sunshine. Then fog. Then sunshine. Then high wind (REALLY high wind) for a couple of holes. Then a massive horizontal hailstorm. Then sun. Then torrential rain. Then sun again. Finally, miserable persistent drizzle.
Came in with 40 points with 3 blobs for second place

November 2010.
Went away for the weekend during the really cold spell. On arrival the greens were frozen solid & only the odd nip of whisky every other hole got us through it.
During the night we had a light snow shower so the next day we played in snow on top of a frozen course. Only time I ever saw people using red & purple sharpie pens to 'colour their ball in' so they could see them.
Never again!

God, I remember that one Chris. When the first green had a layer of ice in places and waterlogged for the rest. I remember the first short par 3, which I hit in the relative calm with an iron and as the wind got up and the rain fell Martin used a 3 wood and fell sort. Utterly, utterly miserable day.
Mind you, in the Algharve 2 years ago it rained so heavily the greens were flooding before our very eyes and I remember standing on the tee on the first par 3 watching the group in front put and the lake surrounding the pin getting visibly bigger by the minute - only the second time I've walked off a course (the other being Cleobury during the ill-fated Ryder Couldn't game..).

Yes that was pretty miserable Tim (Cleobury), and have played soaked through with water running down the crack of my................But i think no one will out trump Brian! I witnessed a bad lightening storm when I was playing in Mertyle Beach ,but were instructed off the course well in time.
I believe that wasn't a great day for Chris Salter either being re ended by white Van Man!http://www.golfshake.com/scripts/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/angry_smile.gif" title="angry" width="20" />

I remember playing the Jubilee Course at St Andrews back in the mid 90s. It was the depths of winter and we were playing better ball match play. I think we won by 6&5, but what really sticks in the mind is the horizontal freezing rain. We were already soaked through when then match finished, so decided to walk in. Only problem is that the course is 9 out along the dunes and then 9 back in. It was like the retreat from Moscow, I have never been so pleased to see the clubhouse -ever!!!
