Men's and Women's Golf Unions to Merge

Spotted this on the noticeboard at my club today.  The EGU and EGWU are proposing a merger and a vote is to take place in November by the counties on the proposal.  Don't know what is driving this (equality act, costs, etc) but wondered how you would vote.  The details are available via the web address below

Don't have a problem with it. I would probably vote for it if only to move things along. In reality what does the EGU actually do in the day to day running of a golf club?
