My Stats - time for some lessons!

Completely sporadic game, time for some iron practice, regular games and some lessons!

The stats speak for themselves!  not much green

Martin, I'm still tweaking the benchmarks and testing some visualisation but these will now show:

  • via individual round analysis, additional tab 'how did you do'
  • BETA link via the 'Analyse my game' page, this shows averages based on last 5 rounds

Hi Darren

i believe you posted an apps thing on facebook?

The golfplan one gives a pro's view on what is exceptable for your current handicap.

Not sure your improvemnt figures are asking too much too soon?

The Golfshake stats are based on analysis of 100,000s of rounds and taking the perfect benchmark for each handicap level.  They are currently being reviewed before a wider roll out.

The issue with using the perfect benchmark is that in reality if a 18 handicapper played to the 'perfect benchmark' then the stats are likely to be what the average 14 handicapper plays to.  Discussed many times but stats are subjective

My view with the stats is to pick the ones that stand out as bad and work on those.  If the stats say that on average I am within my buffer in a particular area (I am Cat 3 so handicap +3 shots) then I am happy with those
