Golf Handicap
I am travlling to Portugal to play golf with Friends and have been advised that I need a handicap card. Although I play off 18-20 I am not a member of a club.
Can anyone let me know where I can get an offical handicap recorded.
Thanks

I have played in Portugal many, many times and have never needed a handicap certificate. The crap they let on the courses is a joke.

Marc the only way you can get an official handicap is by joining a club which are controlled by CONGU. The EGU are trying to change that by introducing their own handicap system to confuse matters further but they charge in excess of £60 per year for the privelage.
I will be soon updating the handicap report on here so it looks alot more professional and official which hopefully then people can use.
Like John's said most courses now aren't to concerned about handicap certificates and ones that are you may find will accept the certificate/report from here. I know members in the past have used the handicap on this site without any problem. Courses just want to know you can play to a certain level. I always recommend checking with the course first by telephone or fax.
Regards,
Darren.
