What one tip would you give...?
Irrespective of your current ability/handicap you will have learned something about golf that you can pass on/share. It may be a swing thought or a practice routine, or it maybe something you've found useful in golf that you've brought from another sport/pastime.
For me there's enough swings thoughts and top tips out there to fill a library, and most of them from better qualified people than me.
So from me; learn to laugh at yourself. Imagine what it will be like for someone watching the little hissy fits or temper tantrums. Of watching you walk off the course with a downturned mouth.
Whatever golf throws at you on a bad day, and it can be mind bendingly frustrating, remember we do it for fun and learn to laugh at yourself. Once you loosen up and realise how unimportant golf is in the great scheme of life you'll actually relax and play better.
What can you pass on?

Don't try and hit the ball...the club will do the work. Better to hit 3/4 straight then full on and wild all over the place!

Accept you will hit a number of bad shots each round.

As prev stated, don't leather the ball, a well struck 4 iron will be straighter and longer than a badly struck driver and keep your head still.

Don't expect too much before you tee off.
How many times have you got to the course having played well recently and you think you are going to tear it up?
Each round is different so don't expect anything until you've played a few holes.
