Swearing - acceptable or not ?

Posted by: user259247 | Thu 25th Aug 2011 19:34 | Last Reply

Played 18 with my wife today and as usual was given a golf lesson.

The weather was great so we decided to have a coffee outside the clubhouse while we added up.

Also having beers were a society that we had followed round. Their language was foul and after several f*******, b*******, and the odd c***, I asked them to tone their language down. Two blokes apologised and the others just looked at me as if to ask who I thought I was.

I had 173 adjectives to describe my own round but none of them would have been deemed offensive.

Am I being an old fuddy-duddy or would you have done the same ?  Do you and your group feel fine with effing and jeffing about your rounds irrespective of who can hear?
