Course data moderation/validity
Hi all, would welcome thoughts and feedback on this.
A very long time ago (6 years) I spent quite a bit of time adding all the UK courses into the system. Since then I've allowed users to create new courses/scorecards and update existing courses in the system. As you would imagine this started fine but over the last 2 years with the increased usage some of the data is now out of date, inaccurate and heavily duplicated. Not helped when there are over 20,000 registered users and several thousand rounds added every week.
I've now spent quite alot of time cleansing the existing data which will be loaded into the site very soon with some site updates.
A while back there was a suggestion from members that members could maintain regions/areas. Is this a viable option going forward and would people be willing to assist ? It's a lot easier for 1 person to maintain a county of 40 courses than a country with 3,000 +
Regards,
Darren.

How much work does maintaining the courses need Darren? Would you be looking for a regional editor just to clean up the cards that exist for all the courses? Would be interested as long as I could fit it in...

Thanks Tony, I've now imported up to date information on 3,000 UK and Irish courses and am now working on tidying up the tees in the system.
