Handicap cut 10 strokes.

Posted by: user416111 | Thu 11th Aug 2011 15:52 | Last Reply

I only took up the game in May this year. Joined my local club and obtained my first ever handicap of 28.

My three cards were gross scores of between 103 and 115.

Played in my first medal and shot 123!

Couple of NR's thereafter, then scored a 97 in a spoon, which resulted in a cut to 26.8

In a recent spoon i played great, shot an 85 net 58 (CSS 71, SSS 72), brilliant!

Handicap cut to 21.3, with a further 4 stoke deduction under rule 19, general play, with a new hadicap of 17.3

Cut 10 stokes, i'm not complaining, I want my handicap as low as possible (In 2 months my handicap has gone from 28 to 17).

Have you ever heard of anyone getting cut 10 strokes for 1 round?

A 28 handicapper would get cut .4 for each shot under par until he reaches 21 and is then cut .3 so would need to shoot net -28 which means playing par  gross. so what is he doing with 28 handicap ?

Actually that reminds me of a society I used to play in ! Also reminds me why I left them !!!

Without entering a profile. S.Sea it is very difficult for anyone to take seriously anything that is posted.

You say you have a joined a club, then please let us know which one so we can decide whether or not your post is worth taking any notice of.

I will also say that if you have talent then you will come down quickly.
