Even though you were DQ'd did they still cut your handicap?

Still got cut which for me is the main thing, I've been stuck on a club handicap of 27 for 12 months now and I'm embarissed to be playing off it.
Hopefully this is the start of a tumble in handicap, I've been widely regarded as the best 27 handicaper in the world for sometime now but i'd much rather be a very average 18 handicapper by the end of the season.

Congratulations on a great round, next time you'll check your scorecard before handing it in!
You are not the first person to fall foul of this rule, and you certainly won't be the last.
Hopefully, as you say, your handicap will start to come down now that you have had this boost to your confidence.
