cards
I played in France last weekend and found their cards to be quite different to ours. They favour a landscape format when opened with the holes running left to right, and with space for 4 scores to be recorded. Some also had mini views of each hole above the hole number which I think is very helpful.I've seen a few variants on cards but most in the UK seem to follow the same format of front nine and back nine on each side of the opened card. Is there a R&A standard for the setting out of a card I wonder?Anyone got any experiences of unusual or particularly good cards. I know someone in here collects them (sorry cannot remember who) and so must have some weird examples.

Yeah, I agree about maps on cards. I tend to play new courses a lot, rather than sticking on the same club course, and many times unless you buy a yardage booklet you really have no hope of knowing where the hole goes or where the next hole is. I guess it is them just trying to screw a little more cash out of us to buy the course guide..
