stand bag or trolly?

Posted by: user16742 | Sat 9th Jun 2007 19:53 | Last Reply

ok i normally have a trolly, but you'll like this on the 13th hole the rod connecting the whell broke, so the wheel fell off, ended up leaving it by the bin on the 14th.

seen lots of people with stand bags, just wondering what the pros and cons of each are?

Wouldnt carrying tire you out more?

Electric trolley for me Matt.

Not a hope in hell of me carrying - unless I was only doing one hole maybe...

My skymax bag fits on a trolley but also has proper carry bag legs.  I've added quick release clips to the shoulder harness so I can decide which I want to use when I get there.  Tend to use the stand bag more during the winter, saves dragging a trolley through the mud and keeps me a bit warmer.  As the course drys out I go for the trolley, I also tend to carry more fluid (at least 3 litres of water/squash).

Carrying the bag isn't as hard as I thought, it's got a two shoulder harness and the clubs really don't weigh a huge amount and it's simple to slip on and off.

Don't need an electric trolley yet, unlike some people I know who need to carry defibrulators, iron lungs and other types of medical equipment....and get a buggy to carry it around anyway.

A few weeks ago I bought PowaKaddy Twinline 3 trolley - a bit pricey  but excellent - very stable, folds nicely. Strongly recommend.

Janusz.

Stand bag for me. Unlike Chris (man of steel) P, its the only excercise I get.

Il try and bring this back on topic

Did use trolley every game until fairly recently but decided to give carrying a go and enjoyed the game much more. Have noticed that games are much quicker and feel less tired at the end.

It's a good test of golfing stamina Matt. If you carry around Crook your fitness levels will increase no end.

Could always go with a half set - miss out the loop to start with and build up.

Playing Crook today - if this rain stops. 4 ball, 3 electric trolley's and a pull trolley..
