Club reshafting

Posted by: user34817 | Tue 15th Feb 2011 21:22 | Last Reply

My step-dad plays with a set of Ping irons (not sure which model but could be the Ping Eye 2's) which he has had for twenty years or more.  He has recently tried some irons out with graphite shafts as he has been losing a little distance in the last few years, due to getting a little older :-)  I was wondering if he could actually replace the shafts in his current Pings with graphite shafts and if so, how much this could cost and where he could get it done.  Also, your thoughts on whether he would be better off buying a second hand set of clubs with graphite shafts already in or reshafting the clubs he already has?

In my experience you can end up spending as much getting a set of irons reshafted as you would buying a new set.

There are some great bargains to be had especially if you don't mind having last year's model.
