Favourite Golfers?

Posted by: user46817 | Tue 22nd May 2007 23:06 | Last Reply

Who is/was favourite your golfer?

Mine are:

1. Greg Norman - attacking and always unpredictable - shoot a 62 or 82 (82 usually when I had money on him) but great fun to watch.

2. Tom Watson - gentleman and golf purist.

3. Craig Stadler - just for entertainment value when he lost his temper.

Just feel that golf recently lacks the drama that the 70's, 80's and 90's had. Even the personalities are contrived (Poulter trying to be Payne Stewart).

Maybe I'm just getting old. Well better get back to my Ovaltine....

My first hero was Sandy Lyle. That bunker shot at the eighteenth when he won the masters was sublime. I remember the commentary by Peter Alliss

"This could go, this could go", as it rolled back towards the hole.

Modern day, I like Paul Casey.
